Gloria J. Giardini

Gloria J. Giardini, 86, Rockford, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 9, 1935, in Rockford, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Szatkowski) Podgorney. She was a graduate of Rockford East High School. Gloria attended St. Stanislaus Catholic Church while she was growing up. Gloria married Anthony A. Giardini, in Rockford, on October 20, 1956. He passed away March 7, 1997. She worked for Rockford Title Company for many years, retiring in 1989 to devote her golden years to her passion of sewing. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting.
Survived by her sons, Gary (Madeline), Perry (Ricci), Terry (Cynthia) and Barry (Nancy) Giardini; her grandchildren, Merissa (Brock) Leneir, Monica (Brian) Woodford, Nicole (Scott) Eckberg, Whitney Mays Giardini, Kathryn (Steve) Linden, Kent (Marissa) Giardini, Kelsie Giardini, Lindsay(Brett) Hogan, Spencer (fiancé, Marie Rooney) Giardini, and Carson Giardini; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by her husband Tony and 8 brothers and sisters.
A time of sharing will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
