Gloria L. Mcbain

Gloria L. McBain, 79, of Rockford passed away on August 12, 2007 surrounded by her friends and family after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Born in Saginaw, Mich., daughter of Ervin Waack and Pearl Staley, she married Ian McBain on August 12, 1950. He predeceased her on October 25, 1990.Gloria was the CEO of Rockford Ball Screw Company. Gloria and Ian founded the company in 1973 and Gloria continued the company after her husbands passing. Gloria, Ian and their family have been very proud of the business. She was also a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the Forest Hills Country Club. Gloria was a world traveler, loved cards, golf, bridge, gambling and bowling. Most off all she loved her friends who shared in these activities with her. Gloria was a friend to all. She is survived by her daughter Shelley A. (Joe) Sundberg, Randall I. (Theresa) McBain, Linda M. (Michael) McGary. Grandchildren Cody and Shannon Sundberg, Joey and Jordan McBain, India M. and Iman M. McGary, Nicole, Jason, Jacob and Jonathan Ghinazzi; great-grandchild, Angelina Ghinazzi. Sister- In- Law Vera Waack, Nieces Jeanine, Sandy and Wendy. Numerous loving cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son Mark A. McBain on Aug. 30, 2005, her grandson, Jimmy and her brother Ervin Waack on May 3, 1979. Special thanks to Tracey Weigel, M.D. of the Univ. of Wisconsin at Madison Medical Center, Dr. Ikenberry, Dr. Saima Naeem and Dr. Einhorn and his staff at SewdishAmerican Hospital. Funeral Service will be in Christ United Methodist Church, Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 11 am. Visitation will be in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, from 5-8 pm Wednesday and will continue Thursday in church from 10 am until time of service. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
