Gregory "Greg" E. Graczyk

Gregory Edward Graczyk, 69, of Rockford, passed away on August 11, 2023, at Northwestern Hospital in DeKalb. He was born on July 22, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Edward and Valerie Graczyk. Greg earned his bachelor’s degree from UW Milwaukee and his master’s degrees from University of California, Long Beach. He worked as a transporter shipping petrol chemical by rail. Greg married Joyce Ensinger in August 2002 in Rockford.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed tinkering around on his El Camino. He was an animal lover, especially bunnies and cats.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Joyce; stepchildren, Mark Pfister, Stephen (Jan) Pfister, and Debbie (John) Bay; grandchildren, Victoria and Elizabeth Pfister, Andrew and Kyle Pfister, and Samantha (fiancé, Erik Hill), Katlyn (Evan Lobdell), and Allison Bay; brother-in-law, Richard (Cathy) Johnson; and cat, Chessie. He is predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Northwestern Hospital for the care they gave Greg.

A public visitation will be on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford 61107. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Graczyk family.
