Gregory S. Edwards

Gregory S. Edwards, 48, died peacefully on April 26, 2012 in his home surrounded by family and friends, Born August 3, 1963, the son of Richard and Mary Edwards. Graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School in 1981 and Kishwaukee Community College, with a degree in horticulture and landscape design in 1984. Married Cathy Picchi in 1988. His love for nature, beauty, life, education and his creative mind made him an extraordinary landscaper. Greg began his career at Forsgren Landscaping, continued in management and design at Tree Care Enterprises, Inc. before fulfilling his dream and becoming coowner of Environmental Effects doing what he loved most.Survivors include his daughters, Kasia and Braely Edwards; mother, Mary Edwards; sister, Mindy (Tom) Clark; brothers, Jeff (Cyndee) Edwards and Todd Edwards; nephew, Josh Edwards; nieces Brittany Edwards, Megan, Kirsten and Autumn Clark; uncle, Doug Edwards; cousins, Stephanie and Andrea Edwards; his dogs, Butchie and Maggie; special friends, Geri Glendenning, John Buffo, Dan Gessner, Sam Cruz and numerous other good friends. Predeceased by his father and grandparents. Greg'¢s family would like to thank Hospice Care of America and their staff members, Angelica, Ken and Barb for the love and supportive care given to him.Visitation will be held from 4:006:30 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service to honor Greg'¢s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. with Rev., Brent Dahlseng officiating.
