Harvey Franklin McClellan, 90, of Rockford, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at home.nbsp; He was born November 17, 1920, in Chicago, the son of Wilbur E. and Julia Kolpainter.nbsp; Harvey was an Army veteran, serving during WWII, in Germany, France, and England, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.nbsp; He married Elizabeth Pat Chatman in Chicago on August 29, 1942.nbsp;nbsp; He worked in sales for various corporations.nbsp; Harvey was a member of North Love Baptist Church where he was a member of the Jolly 60s.nbsp; He was also active in the Community Bible Study at First Covenant Church.nbsp; Harvey was an avid Packers fan and had a passion for recycling.nbsp; He was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Pat; daughters, Cherie (Stan) Grunske of Grand Rapids, MI, and Laurie (David) Van Dreese of Rockford; his sons, Bruce Mac (Jonelle) McClellan of Tyler, TX and John (Marcia) McClellan of Mount Horeb, WI; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Thorson, Sarah Van Dreese, Shannon, Matthew, and Michael McClellan, Sean and Donovan McClellan; 5 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Hannah, Spencer, Cameron, and Phoebe Thorson; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Monday, June 13, 2011, at North Love Baptist Church, 5301 E. Riverside Blvd, Rockford, 61114, with Pastor Paul Kingsbury officiating. nbsp;Visitation from 10:00 am, until time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded.
