Hazel C. Erickson

Rockford- Hazel Catherine Erickson passed away peacefully in St. Anthony Medical Center on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Born September 21, 1914 in Cedar Grove, WI, to Edward and Cornelia Vruwink. Moved to Rockford after her marriage to Stanley Erickson on May 30, 1936. She taught in a one room country school before her marriage. Her passion was gardening and she passed away on Earth day, making her our ""Earth Angel"". She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 73 years, Stanley Erickson; daughters, Darlene Solberg of Rockford and Kathleen (Terry) Lindman of Livermore, Ca; grandchildren, Lori (Ben) Solberg Pothast, Scott Solberg, Deborah (Tim) Lindman Huff, Jennifer (Brian) Lindman Lovold and Wendy (Ben) Lindman-Feckner; 12 beautiful great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Myrtle and son-in-law Charles Solberg in 1986. At the family""s request all services are private at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel.
