Hector J. Murray

Hector Joseph Murray, 89 of Rockford, IL passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018.

Hector was born in Seaton Villa, England on August 3, 1929, son of Hector and Alice (Loughlin) McDonald-Murray. He married Anita (Langa) Murray on June 1, 1955 in Chester, England. She passed away November 6, 1998. Hector was a diesel mechanic in the transportation industry for many years. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of mechanics with others when he had the chance. Hector was devoted, working hard for most of his life, having little free time for outside activities. He was proud of any opportunity he had to help others. Hector will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include his children, Rosemary (Leroy) Bader of Machesney Park, IL, Trevor Murray of Norfolk, VA, Stewart (Edna) Murray of Troy, OH, Gordon (Barb) Murray of South Beloit, IL and Tracey (Rick) Dennis of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Natalie Bader (Todd Heidemann), Daniel (Blanca) Bader, Ian (Hope) Murray, Anita VanVleck, Tasha (Rory) Carter, Justin VanVleck and Emily Murray; many great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Kettel of Scotland. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Anita; brothers, Christopher and Mick Murray of England.
