Henry "Hank" C. Scandroli

Henry “Hank” C. Scandroli Jr., 88, of Loves Park, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Riverbluff Nursing Home. He was born on December 4, 1927, in Rockford, the son of Henry Sr. and Frances (Larson) Scandroli. He served in Japan during WWII shortly after the surrender of Japan. On February 26, 1949, he married the love of his life, Maxine Klick of Beloit, in Rockford. Henry served as the president of the Rock Valley Traffic Club in 1970. He was an avid golfer with the honor of “Hole in One” on July 15, 1999 and received a letter from Jack Nicklaus on July 23, 1971 for a tournament at the Freeport Country Club. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, cherished father and grandfather, and friend to many.
Henry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maxine; his sons Anthony (Anya) Scandroli of Cumming, GA, and Charles W. Scandroli of Rockford, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Scandroli, Nathaniel (Ashley) Scandroli, both of Cumming, GA, and Charles H. T. Scandroli of Rockford, IL; his great grandson, Liam of Cumming, GA; his nephew Brian (Caroline) Matthews of Baltimore, MD; several cousins; and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, sister, and son, Michael, who passed away on July 18, 2012.The family would like to thank River Bluff Nursing Home, especially Dove Unit, hall 4 for their wonderful loving, care and Visiting Nurses Association Hospice.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. Burial Sunset Memorial Gardens.
