Henry S. Paris

August 2, 1930 — October 30, 2012

Henry Stephen Paris, of Rockford, passed away on October 30, 2012 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. He was born on August 2, 1930 to Joseph and Catherine (Noble)Paris at Saint Anthonys Hospital in Rockford. Henry grew up on the West side and attended West High School graduating in 1948. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant maintaining DUKWs, military amphibious vehicles. In 1954 he married Colleen Claire Ryan of Omaha, Nebraska. In 1960, he and his partner, Roy Blomberg, opened Plaza Auto Clinic on 22nd Street where he worked and managed until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen, six sons, Patrick (Heidi),Joseph(Carol),Steven(Maureen),Daniel (Mary), Thomas and William and daughter Colleen (Kelly)(Michael) Wielgus. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Connie Paris Brown and brother, Gerald.

Visitation will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 1860 South Mulford Road, Rockford from 58PM Friday, November 2 and will continue at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 9:00AM Saturday, November 3 rd followed by funeral Mass at 10:00am.
