Herbert John Burt

Herbert “John” Burt, 91, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 in Wesley Willows Health Center. He was born January 25, 1925 in Rockford, the son of Edward and Alice Burt. He married Catherine Bureta in Rockford on June 25, 1948. He worked for Rockford Products for 43 years and retired in 1987.

Survivors include his wife Catherine; children: Cathy (Steven) Derr of Rockford and Alan (Nancy Saunders) Burt of Rockford; Grandchildren: Lynette Collins of Dekalb and Erik (Winona Swagger) Derr of North Point, FL. Great grandchildren: Emily Johnson, Sara Collins and Riley Collins. Siblings: Leonard Burt, George Burt, Joanne (Don) Swinson and Thomas (Sandy) Burt. Predeceased by his parents and siblings: James, Robert, Doris Gotto, Donald, William, Betty Nielsen and Mary Burt. Memorial service to be held at 11am Friday, September 23, 2016 in the chapel at Wesley Willows Arbor, (east side of Rockton Ave.), 4141 North Rockton Avenue, Rockford IL 61103.
