Hjordes A. Dickey

Hjordes A. Judy Dickey, 82 of Rockford passed away May 13, 2009 in Scottsdale, AZ. Born July 24, 1926 in Tyler, MN, the daughter of Edwin and Aagot (Hynden) Riste. Judy was raised by her father, older sisters and loving step-mother Inga Riste whom she admired and adored. She married Ned E. Dickey on June 11, 1949. She was a long term member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club. Judy enjoyed playing golf, bridge and loved playing card games with her grandkids and cooking for her family. She and Ned were snowbirds to Arizona for over 20 years. Her life was centered around her children and grandchildren and their various activities and sporting events. Judy was truly a Bleacher Creature. Judy is survived by her husband Ned, sons Brad (Patti), Jim (Claudette) and Kurt (Kate). Grandchildren Erin (Aaron) Frye, Brett, Kelly, Brian, Colleen, Steven (Emily), Jeff Dickey and great-granddaughter Raya Frye. Sisters Ruth, Eve, Alice, Mary and Brother Dennis. She is predeceased by her parents, step-mother and brother Clarence. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4700 Augustana Dr., Rockford, IL 61107, with Pastor Kenneth R. Storck officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of Service in the church. Burial to follow in Scandinavian Cemetery.
