Howard B. Estes

Howard B. Estes, 90, Rockford, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, in River Bluff Nursing Home.nbsp; He was born March 14, 1920, in Rockford, the son of Benjamin and Agnes (Flood) Estes.nbsp; Howard married Delora Olson in Rockford.nbsp; She predeceased him in 1960.nbsp; He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps as a radar instructor.nbsp; Howard was an electrical engineer at Ingersoll Milling Machine Company for almost 40 years, retiring in 1982.nbsp; He was an avid bowler and belonged to the Ham Radio Club, served on the board of the Ingersoll Retirement Association, and as secretary of the Commodore Computer Club.
Survived by his daughter, Jan (Monty)nbsp; Johnson of Rockford; son, Richard (Chris) Estes of Cherry Valley; grandchildren, Brian (Meri) Carlson, Scott (Sarah) Johnson, Rachael Estes and David Estes; great granddaughter, Ashley Carlson and sister, Gladys Keller.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents, his wife, Delora, and an infant son.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
