Hubert A. Studley

Sir Hubert Anthony Studley,93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2020, after a brief illness.

Hubert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years Phyllis, his two children Mark Leach and Marcia (Leach) Boggs.

Left to cherish his memory, Hubert is survived by his daughter Victoria Leach-Peterson, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, his brother Richard Studley as well as many cherished friends.

Hubert is a veteran of World War II and Korea. During World War II he was stationed on the USS Cuttyhunk Island and USS Luzon. After serving in the Navy Hubert worked as an engineer at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford IL until he retired in 1989. He was also an avid woodworker who loved tinkering in his workshop. He also enjoyed reading anything history related, reminiscing about his Navy years, sharing his vast life experiences with family & friends, watching Westerns and Wrestling (especially the women wrestlers - they can do things the men can't - he would say).

Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2020 from 10:00a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at the funeral home. Inurnment at Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in Hubert Studley’s memory to the Whitman American Legion, Post 22 P.O. Box 424 33 Legion Pkwy, Whitman, MA 02382.
