Hubert D. Urie

Hubert D. Urie, 96, Rockford, died Friday, August 28, 2009, in Wesley Willows Retirement Home. Born September 29, 1912, in Lucas, Kansas, the son of Ira and Mary Rebecca (Day) Urie. Hubert married Grace M. Collinge in Emporia, Kansas on May 9, 1934. She passed away in Rockford on May 9, 1998. He was sales manager for Armour Dial Company for 36 years. Hubert was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brookfield.

Survived by his sister, Ula Shockley of Winfield, Kansas and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Hubert will be missed by all.

Memorial service will be 2pm Saturday, September 5, 2009, in Johns Chapel at Wesley Willows Retirement Home, 4141 N. Rockton Av. Rockford, IL 61103 with Rev. Brian Kenney officiating. Burial in Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Willows.
