Irene Mccoy

Irene Regina McCoy, 91, Rockford, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 18, 1921, in Eleva, Wisconsin, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Gallisath) Larson.
Irene graduated from Muldoon High School in June of 1939.
Irene worked at Illinois Bell Telephone until she married Willard James McCoy in Rockford on October 30, 1948, and they started their family.
Irene then worked in the plumbing and heating department of Sears, Roebuck amp; Co. for several years, and retired from North Health Care in 1982. nbsp;nbsp;She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Survived by her children, Phillip (Marla) McCoy of Byron, Kevin (Brenda) McCoy of Roscoe, Carol (Eddy) Guzy of Cary, and Eileen (Terry) Bacher of Rockford; grandchildren, Chad (Cheri), Shawn (Erin Hughes), Michael, Mark, and Andrew (Allison Meehan) McCoy, Joseph Schaible, Amanda (Ray) Ignacio, and Matthew Bacher;
great grandchildren, Seth, Maegan, Karlie, and Andrew McCoy, Abigail, McKenzie, and Caleb Schaible, Cedric and Angela Ignacio, and Molly and Jeremy Moore; sisterinlaw, Josephine Larson of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years, Willard, February 11, 2009; her parents, and her brother Lylanid Larson. Irenes family would like to thank VNA Hospice, especially her nurse, Cathy, her CNA, Shelly, and her In Touch caregiver, Toccara, for their kind and compassionate care.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Court St. with the Very Reverend Carl E. Beekman officiating.
Visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av with Rosary recited at 7:00 pm.
Visitation also from 9:30 am until 10:15 am on Friday at the church. Burial in St. Mary/St. James Catholic Cemetery.
