Irene V. Sommers

Irene V. Sommers, 88, of Belvidere, reunited with the love of her life on Monday, February, 24, 2014. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 14, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Rachael (Bielawski) Jaczkowski. Irene married John W. Sommers on April 30, 1955; together they shared 57 years before John passed away on June 9, 2012. She was a talented seamstress and dress maker, working several years in the Cleveland area. Irene enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the V.F.W., going to various casinos and loved her 15 years of snow birding in Florida. She cherished her family and will be forever missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her children; son, Patrick (Margie) Hinchliffe; daughter, Carol Ann Brown; son, Scott (Pat) Sommers; sister, Sis. Mary Helen Jaczkowski; grandchildren, Patrick and Amanda Hinchliffe, Mackenzie and Lindsay Brown, Lisa (David) Hermanson, Tobias Wachlin and Jacqueline and Robert Sommers; 2 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Normand Massoth. Predeceased by her parents; daughter, Betty Ann Massoth; brothers, Walter and Frank Jaczkowski; sister, Jennie Grassel.
Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
