James B. Kilgore

Cape Canaveral, FL James B. Kilgore (JB), 84, was called home on September 4, 2012.
JB was born in Dunbar, Virginia on May 9, 1928.
He was the youngest son of 10 children born to the parents of William A. and Maxie (Stapelton) Kilgore. He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene, whom he married over 62 years ago.
He is also survived by his two sons James Kilgore, married to Jo Ann, living in Reno, Nevada, Brian Kilgore of Garden Ridge, Texas, sister Ruth Skidmore and 21 grand and great grand children, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Rick Kilgore of Missoula Montana and daughter in law Tae Kilgore from Garden Ridge, TX.


JB worked hard all his life in the allied trades local 607 as a foreman for Illinois painting company and moved to Florida to retire over 20 years ago.
Jim and Arlene shared a common faith in Jesus Christ as their savior and were members of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa Beach, Fl. nbsp;JB loved Florida, fishing, golfing, baseball and a beautiful sunset every evening overlooking the Banana River.

Special thanks to our Aunt Anita, and daughters Rae Ann and Jackie who stood by his side and loved him as a friend and father while living in Florida.
Praise to the Catholic Church and St. Francis Hospice who provided our father with the most compassionate service in his last days.
Thank you!


JB was one of a kind; he had an ongoing love affair with his wife and an undying commitment to his family and friends.
He was a pillar of moral value and taught his family the true meaning of love.
If you ever met him, you would want to spend as much time as you could with him.
He enjoyed life to the maximum, he was the most unselfish person that ever existed and the best friend you would ever have.


Funeral service will Friday, September 14, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave with a visitation from 4 p.m. until time of service. Private burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
