James Brad Dock

James B. Dock, 88, of Rockford, passed away January 15, 2019 at Amberwood Care Center. Born November 27, 1930 in Thomasville, AL, the son of John & Loretta (Hadley) Dock. James worked for Rockwell International for many years as a machinist. He served in the US Army. James regularly donated blood with local blood banks. An avid sports fan he enjoyed football, baseball and boxing. He had a great sense of humor and loves spending time with kids.
Survivors include children, Claud, Shella, Barry James (Benita), Jeffrey (Kimberly), Darrin (Paula), and Jerome (Veronica) Dock; Step-son Mack Berry; grandchildren, Tamicka (Billy), Jamie, Jeffrey Jr., James, Jervon, Jada, Julius, Joseph, Jaylin, Julian, and Jerome Jr. and host of great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Special nieces Marry Mitchell, Deloris Franklin, Madlyn Stiell-Hall, and Paulette Mose all of Mobile, AL. He was predeceased by parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral Service will be 12 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL 61103. Visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to Amberwood Care Center.
