James Bradford Zipse

James Bradford Zipse, 40, Rockford, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born September 22, 1970 in Galena, the son of Gene and Cynthia (Gabel) Zipse. James attended Bryan High School in Omaha, Nebraska graduating in 1988. James was devoted to his family and loved his work. He had part ownership and helped build Renaissance Roofing Inc., was an avid collector of medieval artifacts and had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. Survivors include; partner, Laura Williamson; mother, Cynthia (Robert) Raleigh; step-mother, Connie Ward; sons, Kristopher and Casey Zipse; daughters, Bianca and Julia Zipse; step- daughters, Alexandria and Morgan Williamson; brothers, Jason (Dawn) Zipse, Joshua (Elisa) Zipse; step-brothers, Robert III (Nelly) Raleigh, Lucas Raleigh, Ronnie (Jennifer) Holmes; sister, Antonia Zipse; step-sisters, Dr. Mary S. (Christopher Carden) Raleigh, Andrea (Lee) Groom and Desirae (Billy Smith) Holmes; granddaughter, Demi Rice. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special dogs, Harley, Davidson and Thor. Predeceased by father, Gene in 2010. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Rockford First, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford 61114. Visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel and will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
