James Leon Larsen

James Leon Larsen Sr. (Lid) 72 Rockford passed away Thursday June 27, 2013 at home with his family. He was born July 31, 1940, Rockford, the son of Arne and Edna Larsen. He attended East High School. After joining the navy in 1958 serving during the Bay of Pigs, He married Diane Johnson of Rockford on August 25, 1962. He held many positions over the years in Rockford. He worked for Sundstrand’s in Belvidere, Barber Coleman and Quaker Oats both in Rockford. He also owned his own businesses including, Larsen’s Remodeling and Larsen’s Landscaping. He served as a volunteer for the Northwest Fire Department and he also Santa Claus for the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Diane. Four children, Jeannine (John) Marks of Rockford, James Jr. of Rockford, Jacqueline (Tim) Starinchuck of Stuart, FL, Jonathan (Melissa) of Rockford. Grandchildren, Chelsea, Kristen, Ashley, Zachary and Jaden. Brothers, Arne M. (Barbara) Larsen of Rockford, Tom (Marilyn) Larsen of Winnebago, Patricia Larsen (Darrell Puffenbarger). Predeceased by his parents and Sister, Paulette. No services per his request. In Lieu of flowers, donations sent to family toward a Memorial.
