James Leonard Lindstedt, 82, of Rockford IL., was reunited with his heavenly father on January 11, 2024. He was born July 3, 1941 in Rockford, IL. to Charles and Louise Lindstedt.
Proud member of the West Warrior Class of 1959. Upon graduation James worked for Eagle Foods where he was a meat cutter for over 40+ years and enjoyed his co-workers and customers. James married the love of his life, Judith Kathleen McCaffrey of Amboy, IL on May 11, 1968.
James was a patient, gentle, and selfless man. He enjoyed participating in many sports, outdoor activities, and family vacations. He was the biggest fan at sporting events for his children and grandchildren. He had a witty sense of humor and had the ability to make unexpected connections in a lighthearted way. He was known for his famous one-liners, even towards the end of his life.
Despite James' diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease in 1989, he optimistically endured this battle and persevered through every single day. He always had a positive outlook and never once complained. Having the inability to be mobile or communicate readily, he accepted this condition with grace and enjoyed the simple things in life; bird watching, Chicago Cubs games, driving for ice cream, and spending time with family made him happy and content. He was the perfect example of a role model for his family. His wife of 55 years was his earth angel that never left his side.
He is survived by his wife Judy, his children Christopher (Michele), Amy (Larry) Murrin, and Stacy; grandsons Patrick and Evan Lindstedt, Brady and Declan Murrin, sister Julie (Mike) Baird, and many nieces and nephews.
