James P. Chadwick

March 5, 1943 — February 14, 2022

James “Pat” P. Chadwick, 78, went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2022, which was three months and seven days after the loss of the love of his life, Nancy “Helen” H. Chadwick. Pat was born on March 5, 1943 in Wideman, Ar. son to Drew and Doris (Hayden) Chadwick. When Pat was 13, a tragic fire took place in their family home and Pat lost his mother and his siblings. After healing from the loss of his wife, Drew remarried to Rachel who was more than honored to help raise Pat along with her own children. Pat went on to marry Nancy Helen Couch on July 1, 1961 in McDougal, Ar. They moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1964. He worked in the factory industry for most of his life then switched to driving truck and retired from G.K.N. He was a proud ordained Deacon and Minister and was Pastor at 20th St. Missionary Baptist Church for a number of years.

He will be survived by those who loved him most, his son Patrick (Beth) Chadwick of Ada, MI; his granddaughters Rachel, Hannah, and Lindsay Chadwick of Ada MI; his grandson Nik Morrow of Rockford, IL; his great grandson Elliot of Rockford, IL; special friend to Pat and Helen, Loraine Odum of Rockford, IL. The family has taken solace in the fact that Pat’s heart is no longer broken, as he has been able to be reunited with his love, Helen. He has also been reunited with his three parents, Drew, Doris and Rachel, as well as his siblings and step siblings. Pat was a loving husband, father and pawpaw, and will hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.

Services will be held private to the family, but everyone is welcome to the inurnment of Pat and Helen that will take place at Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal, AR on the 61st anniversary of their marriage, July 1st, 2022. A very heartfelt thank you to Cedarhurst of Rockford and Alden Debes Rehabilitation & Health Care Center (especially A.K.) for all of the care and compassion shown to Pat and Helen at the end of their lives on earth.
