Janet "Jan" M. Woods

Janet “Jan” M. Woods, 80, of Roscoe, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was born December 28, 1937, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Byron and Ilene (Stoll) Middaugh. Jan grew up in Winnebago and was voted Homecoming Queen Class of 1955. Jan married David G. Woods, who preceded her in death in 2012. They owned and operated Woods and Associates Tax Service. Jan loved traveling and camping with her significant other, Jack. She was a member of Spinning Wheels RV Club. Jan also enjoyed cooking, crafts and gardening. However, her greatest love and enjoyment came from time spent with her grandchildren. Jan will be forever remembered as a loving grandmother, companion and friend.
Survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas Nesmith, Christopher (Jessica) Nesmith, Rachel (Andrew) Hendrickson, Zachary (Meranda) Nesmith; significant other, Jack Knight, 3 daughters and numerous family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, husband, David G. Woods and beloved companion Oliver. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Heartland Hospice and SwedishAmerican Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
