Janet R. Campbell

Janet R. Campbell, 88, of Rockford passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016. Born May 1, 1927, in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Lena (Schunder) Handel. Janet was a 1945 graduate of Muldoon High School and attended Rockford College. She married Donald P. Campbell on July 23, 1948 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Rockford. Janet was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Janet was a longtime member of the Cathedral of St. Peter.
Survived by children, Kathy (Anthony) Cichella, Jim (Karen) Campbell, Betsy (Patrick) Conery and Tom Campbell; grandchildren, Tracy (Dave), Cortney (Todd), Tony (Meg), Brienne (Jeremy), Tim, Bryan, Kevin (Hanna), Andrew and Robert; great grandchildren, Jake, Megan, Emery and Olivia; nieces and nephews and her special Bridge group. Predeceased by her husband, Donald, son, Patrick, daughter-in-law, Vicki and her brothers, sisters and their spouses.
Memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 North Church Street. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church.
