August 28, 1931 — January 5, 2013

Jean Ann GaglianoLawrence, 81 a lifelong resident of Rockford, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born August 28, 1931 the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth Mattoon. A 1949 graduate of East High School and a long time employee at the Canfield Clinic working as a receptionist. Jean was as avid football and baseball fan who especially liked the Chicago Bears and the Cubs.
If she wasnt at home watching the game then you could most likely find her at the horse races cheering them on. Especially close to her heart was her beloved family and her face would light up any time they were near or on the phone. Her presence and her smile will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Heritage Woods for all of their wonderful care and support. Survivors include her children, Cindy (Mark)Lender of Pecatonica, David (Cris) Gagliano of Rockford, Cheri (James) Eddy of Tulsa, OK, Dan (Stephanie) Gagliano of Austin, TX, Carrie (Brian) Felley of Dallas, TX, Carla Gagliano of Austin, TX and Darin Gagliano of Belvidere; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce ONeal of Paw Paw and one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, Thomas Lawrence in 2007, and twin brothers, James and Jack Mattoon.

Funeral service Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a visitation from 57 p.m.
A private inurnment service will be held on Friday, January 11 at Scandinavian Cemetery.
