Jean Delores Celner

Jean Delores Celner passed away on November 11, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born to Matthew and Ida (Filippi) Zordan on May 27, 1935 in Rockford, IL. Jean worked as a secretary for the Rockford Board of Education for many years. She loved working with kids and volunteered in various schools. Jean enjoyed sewing and eve sewed things for her children’s friends, also doing alterations in her home for some time. She enjoyed her children and especially her grandchildren, who made her eyes sparkle. Jean enjoyed traveling with her husband, Paul. They would go most anywhere they took mind to go. She graduated from West High School in June 1953.

Jean is survived by her children, Ron (Aloni) Celner of Idaho Falls, ID and Cindy Ralston of Rockford; grandchildren, Austin of Rockford, Logan, Morgan, Madilyn, Anna and Samantha Celner of Idaho Falls, ID and Andrew and Negan Ralston of Rockford, and great-grandson Aidan Celner of Rockford. Predeceased her loving husband Paul on September 14, 2018 and her parents.

Special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice and all of her at home caregivers that allowed her to stay in her home which she loved so much.

Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, November 16 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. Masks will be required for any event.
