Jean (Genevieve) Harper, 90, Rockford, passed away in Maple Crest Care Centre, Belvidere on January 14, 2013. Born October 27, 1922 in Crystal City, Missouri to Joseph and Genevieve Gucciardo. She grew up in Rockford, as her family moved here when she was a small child. She married Joseph W. Harper on April 5, 1947 in Rockford and worked as a beautician for many years. Jean was a member of the East Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. This was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed sharing her hope to live forever in a paradise on earth under Gods kingdom. She fully enjoyed her Christian meetings and associating with fellow believers. Jean loved to travel and visited many places around the world. Her favorite place to visit was Hawaii and she talked about this often. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and eating out. Jean dearly loved her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and she enjoyed watching them grow up.The family wants to thank Maple Crest Care Centre and their staff for the compassionate and excellent care they provided during her stay there.Jean is survived by daughter, Beverly (George) Solowiejko; grandchildren, Scott Solowiejko, Brett (Cathy) Solowiejko, Chad (Wendy) Solowiejko, Shawn (Twyla) Solowiejko and Tara (Carlos) Gonzalez; greatgrandchildren, Alana Gonzalez, Kevin and Kayla Solowiejko and several nieces and nephews. Preceded by husband Joe Harper (2004), parents, sister, Constance Reed and brother, Vincent Gucciardo. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1905 S. Mulford Rd. Daniel Decastris will be officiating.
