Jean L. Fedie

Jean L. Fedie, 84, passed away on March 15th, 2020 at 1:01 pm, in Rockford, Illinois. Born September 30th, 1935 in Ludington, WI daughter of Ernest and Ester (Shong) Von Haden. A graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Jean went on to marry Arnold A. Fedie on November 11th, 1954, with whom she had 9 children. She devoted her life to raising her children and loving her family. She worked at P.A. Peterson for 18 years, as Housekeeping Supervisor and volunteered at St. James Catholic Parochial School, in the lunchroom, while her children attended school there. Her passions also included deer, cardinal and hummingbird watching, reading of which she passed down to her children, bingo and slots, but most of all she loved making a friend out of a stranger.

She will be missed by those who loved her most, her children, Shelly (Samuel) Mandello, Janice Buelow (Steven , deceased} ,Wanda (Jack) Frew, Maria (Randy) Nielsen, Tamara (Gary) Patnou, Kris (Peggy) Fedie, Paul Fedie, Neal (Taina) Fedie, and Julianna (Bob) Lieb; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; her siblings Agnes Gierok and Alvin Von Haden; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; ex-husband Arnold Fedie; her son-in-law Steven Buelow; her siblings Ann (Charles) Gregory and Evelyn Von Haden; her brother in law Albin Gierok.

A Memorial Mass will take place for Jean on March 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N 2nd St, Rockford, IL 61107. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date. To send online condolences, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
