Jeanine Elizabeth Hackert, 63, Rockford, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born on October 30, 1956, in Winfield, the daughter of Alfred R. and Eugenie M. (Bejnarowicz) Hackert. Jeanine worked in the Rockford school district as a kindergarten teacher at White Swan Grade School. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and was active in the Illinois Teachers Association, the VFW Auxiliary, and the FCC (Families with children from China).
Survived by her daughter, Caitlyn “Caity” Hackert of Machesney Park; her brother, Tom Hackert of Texas; her brother-in-law, Michael Horan and his wife Jade of Durand; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and her 2 sisters, Anne King and Michelle Horan.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, December 14, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Scripture service at 7:45 P.M. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M until 10:45 A.M. on Saturday, at the church. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
