Jeanne Wafford

Jeanne Wafford, 78, Rockford, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Friday, September 23, 2011 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She had courageously fought a 2 year long battle with lung cancer.Born February 19, 1933 in Lewisville, Texas, daughter of Ernest V. and Mary Etta Atkins Chriss.Married Beau Wafford on June 10, 1950 in Farmersville, CA.Member of Sonlight Community Church. She worked in Social Services at Park Strathmoor Nursing Home for several years and always loved selling Avon. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years being with her beloved family.Jeanne was her daughter'¢s best friend and was an especially devoted grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Beau; son, Dennis Wafford, Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Marilyn (Pastor Greg) Carlson and their children, Chris and Aaron, Cyndi (Rod) Dosier and their children, Mark, Melysa and Mike, Lori Branning and her children, Brittney and Kaitlyn; greatgrandchildren, Ali, Erica, Syd, Bastin and the light of her life, baby Blake, all of Rockford; sister Melba Bamford, Las Vegas and her special friend, Sandy Nyenhuis. Jeanne'¢s family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate care given to her by the OSF Cancer Center and OSF Hospice.
