Rockford Jeannie Marie Hayes, 29 of Rockford, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at OSF ST. Anthony Medical Center. Born February 15, 1983 to Philip and Claire (Deters) Hayes. Attended Penn High School where she was a member of the marching band in Mishawaka, Indiana and was a graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee.After college she interned at WNDU in South Bend, IN and WISN in Milwaukee, WI. Jeannie was hired as a news anchor in Rockford for WREX where she has been for 7 years, co hosted the Morning Show for B103 since February and was very proud to have worked for Harpo Studios for 8 years doing freelance work with Oprahs studios. Jeannie was currently writing a childrens book that she was going to dedicate to her niece. She was a wonderful and beautiful person with a fun loving personality, always had lots of energy andhad a funny sense of humor . The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her WREX and B103/Maverick Media family and the Rockford Community for the love and support they have shown.Survivors include her parents; Philip and Claire Hayes; sisters, Kristen (Brian) Nolan and Lisa Hayes both of South Bend, Indiana; paternal grandfather, James (Jeannie) Hayes; niece, Tess Nolan; several aunts, uncles and cousins in Missouri and Wisconsin and all of her friends, coworkers. Predeceased by her Maternal grandparents A.J. ( Jean) Deters and Paternal grandmother Jean Hayes. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church 4401 Highcrest Rd. Visitation from 9 am to 10:45 Saturday, November 10, 2012 at church. Additional services will be held in Granger, Indian near South Bend next week. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to Riverside Community Bank, 6855 East Riverside Blvd, Rockford, IL 61114 for funds to support Jeannies community causes. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel is assisting the family.
