Jeffrey Magnuson

Jeffrey Magnuson, 54, of Rockford, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at Presence Cor Maria. Born April 21, 1962 in Rockford the son of Leonard and Marilyn (Saaf) Magnuson. Worked for over 30 years for the Illinois Tollway and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and a huge die cast toy collector. He was also a collector of various Police and Fire Department patches and enjoyed going to the Lombardi Club with family and friends. Jeff participated in the Special Olympics and won several a gold medals for his outstanding performance. He was a kind and gentle man with a warm heart, he will be missed dearly by those that had the chance to know him.
He is survived by his siblings, Linda (Carlo) Matranga of Winnebago, Julie Kuehl of Roscoe, David (Francine) Magnuson of Rockford; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Brian) Hayes of Huntley, Michael (Rachel) Matranga of Winnebago, Joshua Magnuson of Rockford, Kate White of Montana, Jaryd (Alex) Magnuson of Rockford, Michael Magnuson of Rockford, Matt, Adam, and Brad Kuehl of Roscoe; great nieces, Kinsey and Mia Hayes and lifelong dear friend, Scott Lane. He was preceded in death by his by parents.
Funeral Mass Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. Second St. Rockford. Visitation Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and continues on Friday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. Entombment will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
