John H. Geddeis, Jr.

John H. Geddeis, Jr. died on August 24th at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Hartford, Wisconsin to John H. and Anna (DeCancq) Geddeis and would have celebrated his 80th birthday on August 31st.

He graduated from Hartford (Wisconsin) High School and the University of Wisconsin; he lived in Rockford for 57 years, marrying Nan Jean McDonald on December 15, 1951.nbsp; Until his retirement in 1993, he worked in machine tool distribution at Production Tool and Supply and Factory Supplies, Inc. He enjoyed his many years of involvement with Tebala Temple Drum and Bugle Corps and Scottish Rite, Valley of Freeport.nbsp; He was an avid fisherman and sailor, enjoying every summer at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nan; his children Cathie Geddeis of Piedmont, CA, Deb Mellgren of Rockford, IL, Laura (Dan) Kelley of LaGrange, IL and Brad (Kelli) Geddeis of Port Charlotte, FL; his grandchildren, Courtney Glettner; Stacey, Dan ( Michelle) and Laura Mellgren; Brian and Patrick Kelley; and Lauren and John Geddeis as well as his great-grandchildren Emma and Colin Mellgren.nbsp; He also leaves his brothers David (Laurie) Geddeis of Beaver Dam, WI, sister Loretta (Ed) Turczyn of Rotunda West, FL and a close circle of cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 412 N. Church Street.nbsp; Interment will be private.nbsp; Visitation will be from 3 - 5 PM on Sunday at Fitzgerald Funerla Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Thjose wishing to make memorial contributions may direct them to Shriners Hospital for Children.
