John Henry Burrows

John Henry Burrows, 88, Rockford, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Morning Star Village. He was born August 28, 1922, in Roscoe, the son of Clarence and Mae (Weigman) Burrows. John married June Carroll in Rockford on May 8, 1948. He lost the love of his life on April 28, 1998. He worked at United Flooring Distributors since 1953, and became a partner in 1974. John was a veteran of the Army serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a 1940 graduate of Beloit High School. John enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and he and June loved to entertain family and friends around their pool at home.Survived by his daughter, Vickie and Wayne Frazer of Toledo, Ohio and their children, Melissa and Kyle Frazer; son, Curt and Cindy Burrows of Rockford, and their children, Brock and Brandon Burrows; daughter, Jan and Larry Rebout of Janesville, Wisconsin and their children, Valerie (Scott) Griffith, Ryan and Robby Rebout; son, Jerry and Debbie Burrows and their children, Brent and Blake Burrows; six great grandchildren; brother, Wallace (Norma) Burrows and sister, Joan (Warren) Gunness. Predeceased by his parents and his loving wife of nearly 50 years, June. The family would like to give a special thanks to Transitions Hospice and Morning Star Village for their care and compassion.Funeral Mass will be at 10am, Friday, October 15, 2010, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Av, Rockford, Il 61103. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors. Visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Thursday, October 14, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford, Il 61103, with a Scripture Service at 7:00pm, Visitation also from 9:00am until 9:45am on Friday in the Parish Hall at St Bernadette Catholic Church.
