John J. Rosauer

August 24, 1943 — January 9, 2020

John J. Rosauer, 76, of Rockford, formerly of Oregon, IL, passed away January 9, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Chicago on August 24, 1943 the son of John and Clara (Fielenbach) Rosauer. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On April 21, 1965 he married the love of his life, Vie M. Eustice, in Chicago. He was a 30 year employee with Commonwealth Edison/Exelon and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Oregon, IL. John’s love of gardening led him to become a Master Gardener with the U of I.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vie; children, John (Dorie) Rosauer, Christopher (Annie) Rosauer, and Sherrie (Brad) Lindsay; grandchildren, Jenny, Hope, Hailie Mae, Christopher John, Payton, Brady and Michael; sisters, Agnes (Ken) Fuerst and Adelle Kleich; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Don Schwab; brother-in-law Don Kleich; nephew, Jeffrey Fuerst; and Lori Kleich.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020, with Fr. William Wentink officiating at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in John’s name to Heartland Hospice.
