John R. Kordash, 92, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Provena Cor Mariae. John was born May 16, 1918 in Spring Valley, IL. He was the son of John & Josephine Kordash. Married Gloria Faggiotti in St. Edward Catholic Church on October 12, 1940. An entrepreneur, John co-owned and operated Winnebago Tool and Die subsequently with his brother Julius, started Ace Tool and Die. John served as a Marine during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, The Serra Club and was very active at the YMCA. John was a voracious reader, avid fisherman and enjoyed monitoring the performance of his investment portfolio.Survivors include his wife, Gloria; sons, Jack (Judith) Kordash of Dover, MA, Dr. Terry (Liz) Kordash of Spokane, WA and Rick (Adrianne) Kordash of Spokane, WA; daughter-in-law, Lynn Kordash of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, John (Diane) Kordash of Tyngsborough, MA, Edward (Kim) Kordash of Middleborough, MA, Dr. Terry (Katie) Kordash of Portland, OR, Mark Kordash of NY, NY, Christopher Kordash of Los Angeles, CA, Ben Kordash of Seattle, WA, Kelly (Grant) Goldhardt of Columbus, OH, Krystal (Chris) Hoffman of St. Charles, IL and Grant Kordash of Dallas, TX; seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents; son, Randall "Kip"; brother, Julius and sisters, Anne & Hattie Koontz.Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Monday, March 7, 2011 at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Father Brian Olsen officiating.
