Joseph D. "Joe" Corsolini, 79, Rockford, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in Highview In The Woodlands.Born February 15, 1933 in Ladd, Illinois, "the lad from Ladd," son of Joseph and Mary C. Corsolini Haughawout.Graduated from Hall High School and Beloit College.He earned his Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy.He married Beverly C. "Bev" Buchli in Oregon on December 23, 1954.Joe was a pharmacist for 50 years and was coowner of Sentry Drug Store.He was very active in the community and involved with numerous organizations.He cared for his many customers with great compassion and was dedicated to his profession.He believed in "Educate Before You Medicate" and volunteered much time in educating people about the proper ways to take care of themselves. Geriatric medicine was important to him and he spent many years involved in educating through senior expositions, speaking to groups, schools and organizations in the area,He had been a board member of the Illinois Pharmacists Association and had been named "Pharmacist of the Year" . Joe was passionate about his yard work and loved his tractor. He was a big Neil Diamond fan and especially loved "I Am"¦ I Said" .Survivors include his wife, Beverly; son, Dino J. (Valorie) Corsolini, North Prairie, WI, Gina M. Corsolini, Loves Park and Jodi A. (Steve) Eichelberger, Roscoe; granddaughter, Elizabeth C. Corsolini; stepsister, Pamela Haughawout, Peru; sisterinlaw, Barbara (Dowell) Calvert and several nieces and nephews.Predeceased by his father, Joseph Corsolini; mother, Mary Haughawout; granddaughter, Emily Eichelberger; brother, Donald Corsolini and stepfather, Elsworth Haughawout.Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 in St. Bernadette Catholic Church.Burial in Willwood Burial Park.Visitation from 58 p.m. Friday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and from 99:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church,.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimers Association.
