Joyce M. Kittrell

Joyce M. (Alms) Kittrell, 67, lifetime Rockford resident, died at 1:19 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born April 2, 1943 , daughter of Burton and Lois Cropp Alms. Graduated from Muldoon High School in 1961. Married Bruce Kittrell in Rockford on June 5, 1965. He predeceased her on January 1, 1968. Employed by Logli Grocery Stores for 49 years, many of those as office manager. Joyce was a strong and independent woman who brought love and joy to every life that she touched. Survivors include her sons, Steven (Patrice) Kittrell and Bryan (Cheryl) Kittrell; granddaughters, Brooke, Breanne, Amanda, Kristina and Jeriann; siblings, Lynda (Mike) Laffey, Norman (Marcy) Alms, Marsha (Steve) Krzyzanowski, Lori (John) Bremner, Jay (Deb) Alms, Dean (Shelby) Alms and Brad (Ginger) Alms; numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family members. Also predeceased by her parents, and brothers, Burton, Darryl and Greg. A celebration of Joyces life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with a visitation from noon until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
