Julie M. Layeux, 63, of Rockford, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in her home surrounded by her immediate family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Julie worked at Alpine Bank for 18 years as a personal banker. She was an active member of the St. Rita and Boylan High School Catholic communities. Julie is survived by her husband, Robert Layeux of Rockford; her daughters, Kerry (Tony) Beaulieu and Katie (Shaun) Bouback; her son, Paul (Anita) Layeux; her father, Isi Harpenau; her grandchildren, Owen Beaulieu, and Austin Bouback; her sisters, Donna (Lynn) Neubel, Sara (Denny) Grallap, Sue (Randy) McCall, Nancy (Lee) Peterson, Colleen (Jack) Meyer, and Grace (Jim) Rutan; her brothers, Ken (Jane) Harpenau, Joe (Marsha) Harpenau, Steve (Linda) Harpenau, and Ned (Jane) Harpenau. Julie was predeceased by her mother, Rita and her brother Mark. The Layeux family would like to thank all of their closest friends, especially Nancy and Mark, Nancy and Joe, Craig and Laurie, Marie and John, Sandy and Dave, and Shirley, as well as all Alpine Bank employees for their wonderful support. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald P. Kobbeman officiating followed by burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 29 from 5 8 p.m. (with a Rosary Service at 7:45 p.m.) at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
