Justin Lamar Deshawn Pickett

Justin Lamar Deshawn Pickett, 30, of Rockford, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2021. Justin was born in Rockford, IL on May 28, 1990, son of Brian and Margaret (Whitfield) Pickett. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 2009. He enjoyed spending time with his kid’s and teaching them new things and watching them grow, it gave him so much happiness. Justin married his soul mate, Bianca Cantu, on November 2, 2014 at the Sinnissippi Rose Garden in Rockford, IL. He was her person and she enjoyed doing life with him by her side. They enjoyed traveling with their children to Texas every year to visit with family. Family was very important to Justin and he loved them all so much. Justin was a hard-working man and he took being a provider to his family very serious. Justin received his Electrician Certificate from Rockford College in 2020 and was excited to begin his career. He will be greatly missed by his wife and children.

Justin is survived by his wife, Bianca; his children, Adonis Pickett, Adiah Pickett, Lejend Pickett, and Amillian Pickett; his mother, Margaret Pickett; his sister, Lenita Brooks; his brother, Javarius Bass Pickett; his in-laws, Jaun (Mona Cantu-Zamora) Zamora. He is predeceased by his infant son, Journey (2017); his father, Brian Pickett; his grandma, Martha Whitfield; his grandpa, Eddie Curry.

A funeral service will take place for Justin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Soar Assembly, 604 Salter Ave, Rockford, IL with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those attending will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Cremation rights will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
