Karen Marie Suik

Karen Marie Suik, 61, Rockford, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 25, 1954, in Kewanee, the daughter of William and Elaine (Salisbury) Tunney. She married Leo Suik in Kewanee on November 23, 1974. Karen was an accountant for RACVB (Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau) for 10 years and then as an accountant at Rochelle Hospital for 10 years and most recently as an accountant at KSB Hospital in Dixon for 6 years. She was a graduate of Rockford College. Karen enjoyed gardening, playing games on her computer, reading, and taking vacations, especially anywhere with a beach. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leo; her sons, Brian (Shireen) Suik of Roscoe and Brad Suik of Bolingbrook; her mother, Elaine Tunney of Kewanee; her brothers and sisters, Kathy Tunney and Bill (Konni) Tunney, both of Kewanee, Kris (Steve) Tyler of Metamora, and Pat Tunney of Kewanee; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father, William Tunney.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until time of service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Gi’sGi’s Playhouse Rockford, 8801 N. Second St. Suite 2, Machesney Park, IL 61115 in Karen’s name.
