Lavon Eytalis

LaVon Eytalis, Byron, 78, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, in SwedishAmerican Hospital due to injuries following an automobile accident. She was born October 4, 1939, in Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Mary (McCullough) Olson. LaVon was a graduate of Rockford East High School, the class of 1958. She married Jack Hannblom in Rockford in 1959. He passed away October 4, 1986. She then married Michael Eytalis on October 9, 1999. LaVon worked in the offices of the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Winnebago County for many years.
Survived by her husband, Michael; her daughters, Kathy (Dan) Schultz of Hendersonville, TN, Lori (Edgar) Diaz of Roscoe, and Kari (John) Pierce of Rockford; her step-children, Tom Eytalis of Arkansas, Chris (Deanne) Eytalis of Bloomington, and Tim (Heidi) Eytalis of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Ashley and Chad Pierce, Chris Wing, and Alyssa Wazny; her step-grandchildren, Rachel, Olivia, Lauren, Emily, Hannah, and Zuri Eytalis; her great-granddaughter, Kenzie Pierce; brother, Ronald Olson; niece, Susan Moore; her special longtime friends, John and Carolyn Almond and their family; her beloved dogs, Brandon and Max. Predeceased by her 1st husband, Jack, her parents, and her sister-in-law, Doris Olson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, with Reverend Janet Wold, pastor of All Saint’s Lutheran Church in Byron officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday.
