Larry Steven Hancock, age 84, passed away in Rockford, Illinois on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 after a long struggle with cancer.

Born January 17, 1938 in Payson, Utah to Steven and Alene (Huff) Hancock. Married to Margit Hubner on May 8, 1959 in Straubing, Germany. Larry graduated from Spanish Fork High School and furthered his education later in life. He was proud to serve in the Army and that is where he met the love of his life Margit. He worked at Chrysler for 30 years and was able to enjoy retirement for many years. Larry loved his cats and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bird watching, and was extremely proud of his grandchildren. He loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Patti (Baxter) of Cherry Valley, son Michael (Jodie) Hancock of Rockford; his three grandchildren, Brad (Ashley) Hancock, Brittni (Philip) Burton, and Stephen (Paige) Baxter; eight great grandchildren Carson, Parker, Hayden, Morgan, Micah, Merrick, Finley and Bailey; sister Karen (Deloy) Weaver, brother Douglas (Kay) Hancock.

Was preceded in death by his parents Steven and Alene Hancock, stepmother Grace Hardman, brother Dee (Dorothy) Hancock, son-in-law Brent Baxter.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at OSF Health Systems and OSF Hospice for their compassion, caring, and support to Larry and his family.
