Laurel Jennifer Fritz

Laurel Jennifer Wicklund Fritz, 41, of Rockford, passed peacefully into heaven and into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, June 26,2016 surrounded by her family. She was born August 7, 1974, the daughter of James and Georgeann Wicklund. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister. Laurel bravely fought metastatic breast cancer since 2009.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dave; her beautiful daughter, Riley; her parents Jim and Georgeann Wicklund; her sister, Linette (Stan) Benes; Niece Kaitlyn; nephew, Nathan Benes; step children, Erin, Cait, and Megan Fritz; and many wonderful friends. She is predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to "Friends of Laurel Fritz" at IL Bank and Trust, 6855 E. Riverside Blvd.
