Laurence B. Lane

Laurence B. Lane, 90 of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020. He was born in Edwardsville, IL on April 11, 1930 to Chester Eli and Frances Pearline (Gowins) Lane.

Laurence served his country in the U. S. Army in the Korean War. On September 12, 1952, he married Rosemary Barnes in Alton, Illinois. He worked several jobs, retiring from K- Mart in the security department; he started his vocational life as a cobbler.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rosemary; children, Rickie J (Jackie) Lane and Cinda Rydberg; grandchildren, Brent (Barb) Jakeway, Brandi (Charles) Craig, Andrew (Gina) Bomkamp, Theodore (Angel Lina-Santana) Rydberg, Alexzandria (David) Seymour; great grandchildren, William (Stephanie) Mailand, Heath Jakeway, Devon Jakeway, Anthony Craig, Jacob, Rylie & Connor Bomkamp, Brook, and Bella Rose Seymour; great great grandchild, James Allen Mailand; sisters, Edith (Roger) Georgewitz and Mary Flannery; brother, Paul (Barbara) Lane; sister-in-law, Lexie Lane; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Sandra Lane, and brother, Norman Lane.

The family extends a special thank you to special friend and caregiver Mabel Faulkner.

A private funeral service will be held, with burial at Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit, IL. Those in attendance for any of the services will be required to wear masks and social distance.
