Laurence "Larry" O. Fitzpatrick, Dds

Laurence “Larry” O. Fitzpatrick, DDS, 90, Caledonia, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his home. He was born August 25, 1931, in Flushing, New York, the son of Frank and Kathleen (Casey) Fitzpatrick. Larry was a veteran having served in Greenland and California in the Air Force. He married Mary Lou Snodgrass on April 12, 1958, and together they spent a tour in Tripoli, Libya. Larry attended Loyola University and graduated from the Loyola School of Dentistry in 1955. Larry was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. He was a past President of the Winnebago County Dental Society and was instrumental in establishing dental services at Crusader Clinic and helped obtain free mouth guards for young football players. Larry was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing Duplicate Bridge. He was an Advanced Master in that game.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Lou; his children, Laura (Robert) Patterson, Mary Eileen (Greg Meyers) Fitzpatrick, and Tim (Ginger) Fitzpatrick; his grandchildren, Gordon, Olivia and Cameron Patterson, Isabel and Owen Fitzpatrick-Meyers, and Delaney and Oliver Fitzpatrick; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and his sister, Eileen Leeming Galley.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 8, 2021, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Av, Loves Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Friday at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at St. Mary/St. James Catholic Cemetery at a later time.
