Rockford- LaVern "Bud" R. Jackson, 78 died peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Park Strathmoor surrounded by his family . Born August 29, 1932 in Mt. Sterling, WI the son of Fred and Ingeborg(Olson) Jackson. A US Veteran serving in the Army and was honorably discharged on May 5, 1955. Married his loving wife Claramae Allen on September 24, 1955 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Worked for over 25 years at Barber-Colman and Ekstrom-Carlson retiring in 1995. A faithful member of Christ the Rock Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary post 1207. Bud was an avid Packers fan, loved to do upholstering and was an overall "handyman". The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Park Strathmoor Staff for all of their kind and caring ways. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend to all and will be missed greatly. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Claramae of Rockford; son, Michael (Ruth) Jackson of Machesney Park; daughters, Laura (Dan) Reece and Carolyn (Tony) Pobjecky both of Rockford; grandchildren, Ryan and Nathan Reece; Jake Pobjecky; Michelle Burkhamer and Patricia Taylor; great grandchildren, Tonica and Paris; sister, Maxine Yarwood of IA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cynthia Jackson; son-in-law, David Harring, brother, Jerome (Jean) Jackson; sisters, Clarice Peterson, Freda Anderson and Evelyn (Fred) Beinborn. Funeral Service on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the Rock Lutheran Church, 8330 Newburg Rd. , with Pastor David Meggers officiating. Visitation Sat. in church from 11:00 a.m. - until the time of service. Private burial will be held at Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere. In lieu of flowers memoirals to: Christ the Rock Church or Alzheimer's Association. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel is assisting the family.
