Leonard Guy Musselman

Leonard Guy Musselman, 84, went to be with our Heavenly Father. He passed peacefully in the arms of his wife, Pat, Monday evening, June 8, 2015. He was born on March 18, 1931, near Flagg Center, Illinois to Albert Guy and Lucille (Biggers) Musselman. He married Patricia Ann (Nelson) Plumb on July 16, 1976 in Rockford. They shared 38 years of marriage. Leonard served in the United States Army in France during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 30 years with Rockford Blacktop, some 20 years ago.
Survived by his wife, Pat; sister, Rosella Capes; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Hess) Musselman and Bernita (Gasparini) Musselman; son, Ron (Cathy); daughter, Rita (Dick) Monger; stepsons, Kevin and David (Rebecca) Plumb; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren whom he loved spending time with and watching them grow. They all loved their Papa Len. He also had 8 nephews and nieces. Leonard was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, Ralph Curtis, Harold Grant and Russell Lee and brother-in-law, Orville Lorenzo Capes.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with Pastor Scott Neese officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
