LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND GREAT- GRANDFATHER

Leonard Lawrence Klonicki, 81, of Rockford, passed away at 12:45a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. Born August 2, 1926 in Chicago, IL; son of Aldebert and Mary Frances (Kaminski) Klodnicki. Married Josephine Faye Iverson in Rockford on January 6, 1951. Leonard served in the Army Air Force during WWII, serving in the Philippines and Alaska as a staff sergeant and mess steward. He was a plasterer for 6 years and then head chef at Boylan High School for 36 years. He was an active leader in the Service Club and famous for his name Mr. K, his white chefs hat, and pizza. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree member of the contemporary choir, member of American Legion of Veteran Foreign War and as an honorary member of Viet-Now. As a young boy he was called Perchie by family and other members of the gang. Survivors include his children, Ann Marie (Luis) Arroy, Lori (Norm) Keinz, Teresa (Gary) Maylum, Daniel (Vicki) Klonicki and Thomas (Sheila) Klonicki; Grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Angela, Jeremy (Emily), Melissa, Jamie, Eric, Brandon, Nicole, Brittany, Jared, Zachary, Tony, Brian and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Kayla, Kyra, Annika, Brandalyn and Carson; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife; son, Mark G. Klonicki in 2004; brothers, Stanley, Frank, and Joseph Whitey and sister, Helen.A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2330 Bell Ave., Rockford, with Rev. Daniel Peters officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
