Leslie H. Clark, 82, Rockford, died at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Rockford Memorial Hospital.nbsp; Born July 30, 1930 in Rockford, daughter of Jack and Nelly Lindsay Reid.nbsp; Graduated from West High School, attended Northern Illinois University and received her bachelors degree from Governors State University.nbsp; Married Lawrence G. Clark, DVM, on July 27, 1953 in Rockford.nbsp; He predeceased her on October 7, 2008.nbsp; She retired from a long teaching career in Florida, having also taught in Nicaragua and Crete, IL. She had a loving tolerance of children, was proud of her profession, and always considered it a privilege to be a mentor to many children. She was a member of the Rockledge Presbyterian Church in Rockledge, FL, where she had also been a Sunday School teacher.nbsp; She belonged to a painting group in Florida and was active in Habitat For Humanity.nbsp; Along with her husband, and because of her love of animals, she was activelynbsp; involved with the Christian Veterinarian Mission in Nicaragua. Leslie was a woman with a joyful spirit who was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother.nbsp;

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa (Mark) Florczak and Wanda (Kevin) Myers; sons, James (Debbie) Clark and William (Lisbeth) Clark; grandchildren, Brian, Lindsay (Justin), Laura Jane, Kelsey, Mark, Lauren, Reid, Elena and Paul; greatgrandchild, Gracie Jane; daughterinlaw, Linda Clark and cousin, Scottie (Jack) Lichtenheld.nbsp; Also predeceased by her parents; son, John Clark and brother, William Reid.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Johns Chapel at Wesley Willows Retirement Center with Rev. Bruce Main officiating.nbsp; Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.nbsp; Memorial visitation beginning at 10:15 a.m.nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesley Willows Good Samaritan Fund.nbsp; The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
